Hotel New York
Hotel New York

The Hotel New York is a hotel located in the former headquarters of the Holland-America Line (H.A.L.). The hotel is regarded as the symbolic birthplace of the Dutch cruise industry. Up to the turn of the twentieth century, half a million people were carried across the Atlantic on board the company's vessels. The place is now also used as the starting point for RIB boat cruises to/from Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht.

Markthal
Markthal

The Markthal was designed by the MVRDV architecture practice. The grey stone building is shaped like a horseshoe. Apartments have been incorporated between the inner and outer curves of the arch. The inner façade of the Markthal is adorned with an artwork by Arno Coenen and Iris Roskam which is 11,000 m² in size and is entitled Horn of Plenty. The title refers to the Cornucopia, a horn from Greek mythology that symbolises abundance and satiety.

Kinderdijk is the site of nineteen polder windmills in the northwest of Alblasserwaard. Since 1997, they have been on UNESCO's world heritage list. Windmills were built at Kinderdijk from the end of the fifteenth century onwards, but the current windmills almost all date from 1738 and 1740.

Anne Frank House
Anne Frank House

Anne Frank is one of Amsterdam’s best-known historical figures. Anne and her family lived in hiding from the Nazis for more than two years in this house. Today, Anne’s spirit lives on through her diary and the huge numbers of visitors who come to Amsterdam every year to learn more about her short life. The rooms at the Anne Frank House still portray the atmosphere of the period spent in hiding.

Building a dam instead of this storm surge barrier would have been much cheaper and easier. But although safety was the first priority, nature could not be forgotten. Closure of the Oosterschelde would have had several consequences. Therefore an open barrier was build that can be closed in time of necessity. A must see in The Netherlands as its shows what the Dutch are capable of. A whole nation protected from the sea by this massive construction.

During the edition of 2018, we showcased 56 different rooftops, which were visited by over 20.000 people.

Museum Night (Dutch: Museumnacht) is an annual event in several cities in Flanders and the Netherlands. Museums will collaborate and people will be able to buy one ticket to access all the participating museums in a particular city. 
One of the most popular events is Museum Night in Amsterdam (in Dutch), but other events are also held in cities like Almere, Antwerp, Breda, Brussels, The Hague, Delft, Ghent, Leiden, Maastricht, Ostend, Roermond, Rotterdam, Utrecht and many more.

King's Day
King's Day

King's Day is a national holiday in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Celebrated on 27 April (26 April if the 27th is a Sunday), the date marks the birth of King Willem-Alexander. Until the abdication of Queen Beatrix in 2013, the holiday was known as Koninginnedag or Queen's Day and was celebrated on 30 April. Koningsdag is known for its nationwide vrijmarkt ("free market"), at which the Dutch sell their used items. It is also an opportunity for "orange madness" or oranjegekte, a kind of frenzy named for the national colour.

The Rotterdam Marathon, currently branded NN Rotterdam Marathon, is an annual marathon that has been held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands since 1981. It has been held in April every year since the third edition in 1984, and attracts many top athletes. It has also been ranked as one of the top 10 marathons in the world by Runner's World magazine. The event is the most popular marathon in the Netherlands, followed by the marathons of Amsterdam and Eindhoven.

SAIL is, with the international Tall Ships as decor, the largest public event of the Netherlands. Since 1975 SAIL has grown into the Europe’s largest free-access nautical event. Every five years, roughly 600 ships sail through the ‘Noordzeekanaal’ to moor in and around the ‘IJ-haven’. But remember: SAIL is not just a five day event, every five years. We invite everyone to be part of SAIL Amsterdam 2025 and by being part of SAIL, you will also be part of an event that centralizes connections, innovation and amazement.

In September, each year the MYS curates the exhibition of 125+ extraordinary one-off superyachts built by the world’s most respected shipyards and welcomes leaders from the yachting industry. The MYS is the premiere luxury event worldwide where visitors can discover the greatest aspects of superyachting against the glamorous backdrop of Monaco. Since 1991, the MYS has gratefully benefitted from the recognition and the support of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Rotterdam Central Station is also known as the international gateway to Rotterdam. Nearly 110,000 travellers pass through Central Station every day. 
Central Station has had a total makeover in recent years, making the station one of the most iconic architectural features in Rotterdam. The roof over the tracks is partly covered in solar panels, continuing uninterrupted into the angled roof over the station hall.

EYE Film Institute

EYE Film Institute Netherlands is a Dutch archive and museum in Amsterdam that preserves and presents both Dutch and foreign films screened in the Netherlands. The museum collection includes 37,000 film titles, 60,000 posters, 700,000 photographs and 20,000 books. The earliest materials date from the start of the film industry in the Netherlands in 1895.

The Rainbow Spiral

The Rainbow Spiral is a very special and fairytale-like building in Valkenburg, Limburg. The Ronald McDonald Children's Valley is located in this building, where families with a handicapped child can enjoy a holiday in a homely environment. It is a colorful design by the famous Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The Regenboogspiraal is a beautiful building, with many colors and round shapes, integrated into nature.

GLOW is a free accessible light art festival and can be described as an exhibition in the public space of Eindhoven of 35 famous national and international light artists. They show light art and design applications that have come about through the use of new media technologies, such as computers, sensors, animations, but also more familiar projection techniques.The light artworks are connected by a walking route.
